What a trip down memory lane. I remember Fairlight, Ackerlight, Scoopex, Defjam, EagleSoft, Skid Row, NorthStar, Phenomena, and the rest.
Shame to see many have ditched the Amy, and how boring they've become (Pc also stands fro Political Correctness!!)
The Amy is still as machine that instills creativity. The Amy will never die!!!
I was never active in the Scene, though a knew (and still know) a lot of the
Australian members of Skid Row, Burning Crime etc. Used to belong to a small
insignificant group called TBC Underworld who simply traded here in Oz and traded Videos under
Video Vandals. If anyone sees Rex/NorthStar say hi!

MESSAGE TO RokDaZone/Artwork (Generation Main-Ed):
I cant recall that I have ever claimed In Medias Res to be an "illegal" magazine. Maybe you are confusing some of the interviewed people's illegal _activities_ with the aim of my magazine. In Medias Res' only objective is to pay homage to the great pioneers. If you still find my objectives questionable, please enlighten me.
Concerning your comment about the differentiated selection of people, especially Amigawise I can only tell you that, yes, I have put more stress on the OLDTIMERS. Sure there are many brillant coders around nowadays, but its not as interesting in my personal point of view. Maybe I'm wrong? Who would you like to see included?

As Main-Editor of one of the leading Amiga-magazines, I have two major questions:
1.) Why do you pretend there could be anything "illegal" about this page?
2.) Why don't you try and find out about the living legends as the dead ones already smell funny (and I am in the Scene since 1988 so I know most of them from those times)?
Else quite nice.

it really makes me sad sometimes that this fun couldn`t last forever ...

I never had so much fun since i stopped programming
in 68000er Assembler-Language.
My very best friends were SEKA, ASMONE or DPaint.
Never, really never a PC will be able to produce so much
fun we all had playing the unbeatable Amiga-Games like
IK+ or PARADROID.
Now the amiga scene is quite dead and i will never forget
the good old times i had.

The interviews with the old, TRUE Sceners is the best things I have ever read. But I also god sad. Not because of what I read, but what I see. Eventhough I joined the Scene for real in 1989-1990 I am already starting to miss the old days. The Scene today is completey crappy! New Sceners don't care about the old guys, not showing the respect they truly deserve. f**k ... If I could turn back time to any year I would do that ... Wouldn't hesitate for a second. I just hope the Scene will live on for many years to come, and maybe recover. Why is money and greedyness involved in the Scene??? Why are no decent parties held anymore?? Where is the competition for fame and glory?? Where are the OLD legends?? They have all quit the Scene because it stinks.

This is truely the most ambitoius project on the Commodore 64 since the Horizon movie premiere of Sneakers (arranged by Natas).
Keep the nostalgia alive, because this is a fresh and very welcome deja vu experience.
I agree with Strider though - make a mail list on which you publish updates to the site.

Oh, how i wish i had been born 10 years earlier, so i could have been part of "the scene".
Now i'm only one of many former C64-owners, with a PC.
My eyes fill with tears when i think of the good old days, when you had fun!
When i talk nostalgia with my friends, they talk about Windows 2.0, and i feel sad when i realise that the number of people that understand me, will only decrease until there is noone left.
These pages are important! Keep up the good work!

Greetings fellow C-64 users, one and all. My very first
experience both with computers and with on-line computing
began on a Commodore-64. I first obtained my Commodore
in 1985 as a Christmas present. I must say that I take pride
in the fact that my system works as well now as it did 10
years ago due to the care that I have given it. When I was
younger, I primarily used it to research reports for school, and
to play games. I never learned much about programming
back then. Now however, I am very interested not only in
learning how to program both in C-64 Basic, but in 6502/6510
assembly language as well. In the future, I am also interested
in buliding my own 6502/6510 computer. I am highly
interested in any information that your group can provide
me with, and I look forward to hearing from you in the

Where are those cool less than 200 people parties?????

I'm not really a big scener, just an independant programmer in all those days. I did write parts of a freezer cart

I enjoyed your site, and nice design!
I hope to do a nice scene site sometime.
Btw, I am in contact with Cycleburner, he's amiga now.. he is known for his great digi's. He's the guy from finland?
Check irc #c-64 for some of the old sceners. Most of the dudes go on there.
I can probably find a few more.. just ask around, someone has versions of the sceners email list.

Still, keep the dream alive, and support amiga. Who knows, maybe the old days will be back again... Maybe not tommorow, maybe not this year, maybe not this life. But who knows....
