Interview

Handle: Hagar - Homepage

How did you come up with your alias ?
It all began some months before I joined The Supply Team (short TST), I guess We where inspired of people like Sodan, Ace, Hulk, TMC and others like them. Well I was looking for handle and liked the comic figure Hagar, somehow it fitted just perfect for me; 190 cm high, 96 kg and my hair was growing very fast (still is). I was what you could call a viking type, so I started using the name. My friends sometimes, just for fun, called me Haar-gar ( Eng. Hair-gar).

City / Country:
Country is Denmark. City: Now it's Odense, It's used to be Ellinge, Ferritslev. Born in Copenhagen.

Born year:
In the year 1971

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
The first computer was a C64 and the story is like this: My stepfather sold old cars and parts of them, one friend of his had C64 and they thought it was a very good idea to do the accounting on a computer. After some months I took over the C64 as nobody used it, since then it's was mine. Oh he bought it the 25 april 1985.

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
A friend of mine, Rambones (now Nmioaon), knew some other computer freaks, they wanted to start a group and called it The Supply Team, my friend became a member. I wanted to join too, so I made some grafix and they took me in. This was late in 1986.

In July 1987 I brought a A500, it's was one of the old ones with US keyboard and where SideWinder flickered (hardware error, which could be fixed with a transistor) plus the filter only could be turned on/off the hardware way. Well after one or two months Amigo of The Connection asked me to join, this was a great offer and I then join The Connection. All went good until newyear 1987/1988, there Amigo got taken by the german police :-( they took his amiga and all his disks. Kebra started Ackerlight and wanted me to join, but I did'nt. I became known as Hagar of The Connection, or just Hagar, as no other member of the group did anything.

Agound 1990 I joined TST again, but sort of stoped before 1991. Then in feb. 1995 I brought a PC and wanted to join the "scene " again, so now here in 1996 I'm a member of Wize. The active members of Wize are: Wizz, Nmioaon(Rambones) and me (Hagar).

What was the proudest moment in your career ?
My time in The Connection, where I was mail swapping with 350 people/groups around the world; every day I got 20 packes. Sometimes I do miss that time, the people and the action at the partys

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
For being a friend, nice and cool.

What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
Most of all it was the modems, they killed it all and took away the spirit. Other reasons was that I quited a sparetime job, so I did not have the money to swap, nor mail or modem, though two members of TST was selling the stuff I got, they kept almost all the money for themselfs. After some time I got tired of there attitude and stopped.

Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
Nope, not really.
