Interview
Handle:
Inferno of the Swedish Cracking Crew (SCC)
(Anternative e-mail address)
How did you come up with your alias ?
I was 11 years old and thought it sounded cool!
City / Country:
Varberg, Sweden
Born year:
1972
What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
A VIC-20. I think our dad bought it 1980 or maybe 1981.
How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
I put ads in foreign computer magazines.
SCC and Northern Lights
What was the proudest moment in your career ?
Getting mega-greetings in a lot of demos from big groups in Europe.
For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
I guess we were fast out on the European market. Not many people
in Sweden swapped internationally and we felt pretty alone out there
for a long period of time. For a period we were also quite fast
cracking games.
What would you like to be remembered for ?
As one of the first on the European scene in the beginning of the 80's
What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
After 1985 I got bored of swapping and other things took over my
interest. The Amiga was on its way in and the "old" commodore
64-market changed.
Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
*laugh* .....
No.... maybe I behaved somewhat childishly when some quarrel arose
between some major Swedish groups in the mid 80's. I guess I was too
young to be able to socialize appropriately with people... :)
What was your favorite
GAME(S)
I just loved Alligata Blagger! Damn, that was game value!
DEMO(S)
ohh... the demos on the 64 never really made me feel
astonished.... but I remember the first demo of a man running over a
moving field of squares... it was called "Pacer" and was made by
a guy in Germany.... at that time it kicked ass!
PROGRAMMER(S) (OR PROGRAMMING TEAM(S))
Anthony Crowther! ...an artist...
CRACKER(S) (OR CRACKING GROUP(S))
"1001 Crew" ... I remember them as nice guys with humour...
COMPOSER(S)
Martin Galway
BEST COMPOSED TRACK(S)
I still get chills from the Rambo theme!
EVENT(S) (E.G. COPYPARTY)
Copyparty in Odense, Denmark
My first party. People were drunk while I hardly knew what a beer was.
I thought it was amazing just to be there!
MEMORY(S)
All the mail everyday! ... different countries and stamps...
...getting greeting from different big groups in Europe...
Meeting Triad and Fairlight in Gothenburg... that was fun!
DRINK ?
Grolsch beer from Holland!
What are you doing nowadays ?
I am studying business at University of California, Berkeley
but will soon be back in Gothenburg to finish my studies at Chalmers
University of Technology.
What are you doing on your spare time?
I have a small studio with a computer and some synthesizers. I
spend a lot of time trying to create that first hit *laugh* and I
know I will someday! ... I also paint in oil... though I suck!
Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (read: admires)
uhhh... *smile*..... well.... I guess I spent too much time in
in front of my computer when I was younger.... try not to get so
fanatical! There are so many other things that make life interesting...
What is the meaning of life?
Change! .... to learn new things ... to see and do it all!
