Interview
Handle:
Starfox
How did you come up with your alias ?
I wanted a KEWL handle so I picked up a Marvel comic, and stole the name
Starfox from one of the superheroes. This was in '83-'84!
City / Country:
Frederikshavn/Denmark
Born year:
1969
What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
ZX-81 around '82!
How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
We got our hands on a C64! I started Time Zone. I grabbed the handle
Starfox, and made up the handle Meanace for my brother. I learned
machinecode by using Smonex (the machinecode monitor!!!) and snooping around
other people's code. I was a member of: Time Zone, The Gamebusters 1541,
2000 A.D. (very shortly because I didn't like the name) and then System 2000
(which didn't exist for very long.) I had some crazy offers to join foreign
groups, but never did because they were too far away. At the end of the C64
scene I was in NATO, then NOISE together with numerous friends, and so was
my brother Meanace.
What was the proudest moment in your career ?
There were a couple. Some of my demos. Getting listed #1 in scrollers was
another. My music routines. My weird cocksucking game (yes really! At a
party in Odense I was the only one who could play it! It really killed your
joystick and produced a white-hot lactic acid burn in your hands! ;)), A
greeting from The Meanteam in one of their demos. To name a few.
For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
Some of my demos like Hip Hop Demo, System Shock and a couple of Mega Demos.
My $0400 ripper utility (which used my GREAT load/save routine ;)) Some of
the music routines I did. But most important, because I'm a nice guy! ;)
What would you like to be remembered for ?
Being one of the CRAZY c64 dewds who did a lot of CRAZY things!
What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
There was nothing coming out anymore, plus the amiga was taking over!
Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
Quitting TG 1541 (hi Bingo!) to join 2000 A.D.
