Handle: Chris Huelsbeck -/- Homepage

How did you come up with your alias ?
I don´t have one, I´m known with my real name...

City / Country:
Langen near Frankfurt in Germany...

Born year:
1968

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
I was first hacking on an early MS-Dos machine (Sirius PC) but my own first computer was the legendary C64 in 1984...

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
I had no contact with the "scene"...

What was the proudest moment in your career ?
Winning the first music competition in a german computer mag called "64er Magazin"...

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
First, I think I had the luck beeing the first german programmer for music in these days and second, I started writing soundtracks for a lot of games, so there was a lot of stuff around there...

What would you like to be remembered for ?
I think I was the first programmer who made sample sounds in musics with the SID chip, but the first release "Bad cat" from Rainbow Arts that featured "my" trick was delayed about 3 month until the program was finished. So Martin Galway got the fame with "Arkanoid" and his sample-like technique... but I don´t want to be jealous of him... :)

Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?

What are you doing nowadays ?
Producing soundtracks for games... I´m proud being one of the few people from the old days who are still in the buisness... My latest work is the soundtrack for "Tunnel B1" from Ocean Software on Playstation, Saturn and PC...

What are you doing on your spare time?
Music, Cinema, my Girlfriend, other Girls (grin), Clubbing, Internet (surfing and IRC - efnet, nickname: Chippie) and C64 (Original machine and Emulators, look out about new stuff on my homepage in the future...)

Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (read: admires)
