Interview
Handle?
Rowdy
How did you come up with your alias?
- Well.. I decided I didn't want any prefixes like 'Mr.' or something like
that, since I already had stunned everyone with mind-sparkling handles like
'Mr. X-Ray' and 'FireWalker', I wanted a short, catchy name. So I sat down,
reading my lexicon from cover to cover and came up with the only possible
solution...
City/ Country?
- Falköping/ Sweden.
Born year?
- 1971.
What was your first computer and when did you get it?
- I got my first computer, a VIC 20, back in 1981-82.
How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been in?
- It all started, like for most guys I guess, with swapping games (tape).
As time went by, me and some of my contacts got curious about cracking the
games ourselves and that's about it. I guess the first real group we started,
was 'Bad Boys'. If you want the entire list, here it is:
'Bad Boys', 'The Explorers', 'BlockBusters', 'Dirty Dozen', 'Triad',
'Heptagon', 'Life/ Riffs', 'AltoBrows', 'FairLight'.
The meaning with 'AltoBrows' was to conquer the world and revolute the
software industry, and they excisted for about two weeks...
What was the proudest moment in your career?
- Looking back, I haven't exactly done any major discoveries in the
computer area, but I felt very proud when I was asked to join both Triad and
FairLight. I got credited for some cracks and the release of the demo
'Official Version/ FLT' also ment a lot to my Ego.
For what specific reason do you think you are remembered?
- You tell me....(Are you sure you want to know ;-) -Ed)
What made you stop the scene activity and do you remember when?
- Lack of time put a stop to the major activities, I guess, but it's
kind of hard to set a date, since I never were too productive...
I still check up on the scene though, and my trusty old 64 is still
at my desk.
Thinking back at the good old days, is there anything you regret?
- I regret that I was so darn lazy and still got heaps of unreleased
routines. We actually are thinking of releasing some kind of intro-
collection with never released routines, together with some new code.
Favourite:
Game? - David's Midnight Magic.
Demo? - Amazing 1001.
Programming Team? - The Judges.
Cracker? - Mr. Z.
Composer(s)? - Martin Galway, Sharon.
Soundtrack? - Rambo loadtune/ soundtrack, Neverending Story.
Event?
- Danish Gold Party 86-87? Started at a scout cabin, which
accidently(?) got burned down and continued at some local school.
Drink?
- Falcon Export (Swedish beer), Vira Blåtira (Swedish sodapop that
doesn't exist anymore, too bad.)
What are you doing nowadays?
- I'm currently studying computer science at the University of Skövde.
What are you doing at your spare time?
- I try to stay fit, playing Soccer and Volleyball, also spending quite
some time with my girlfriend. Answering all my E-mail is very time
consuming as well..... (a95andla@ida.his.se)
Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (admirers)?
- All the effort spent, trying to keep the C64 alive makes it kind of
special. Remember the glory days with a smile on your face....
