How did you come up with your alias ?
That's my real name. Sometimes I am referred by AVH.
City / Country:
Mannheim, Germany
Born year:
1969
What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
C 64 in Oktober 1983
How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
It started on the 10.8.1984 when I met MWS of RADWAR who had moved from
Cologne to Heinsberg. I had some contacts to dutch friends and so we
established a swapping connection between Holland and Germany.
The Fruits (1983)
Deutsches Knacker Syndikat (1984)
Federation Against Copyright (1985)
Flash Cracking Group (1985)
Radwar Enterprises (1985)
The Light Circle
Elite
What was the proudest moment in your career ?
Developing the first Bordersprites and the Interlace for the C 64. And
I am still proud of some of our parties (not all !).
For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
RADWAR was one of the leading groups in the Mid-Eighties. We published
a lot of good stuff.
We made the "Western Games Experiment": We got the game "Western
Games" weeks before it was published. We spread it to nearly everybody who
had the power to crack and spread it fast. But we said: "Now you have this
game, but make sure, you will not pass this or any other copy of it for the
next weeks." It worked, the company sold more copies of Western Games on
C64, than other games on C64, Amiga, Atari together!
We held some really coool Parties.
I think, I am remembered for my strange ideas (e.g. disguising as a
ninja at the Danish Gold Party), for my RADWAR Intros, and for the "Radwar
Helicopter", the Intro used with our version of 'International Karate'. (No,
it was _not_ animated, it was just a pic with some sound)
What would you like to be remembered for ?
If some people remember our parties, I am satisfied...
Oh, and I would like it, if today's members of the Federation Against
Copyright would remember, that I was the Founder of FAC.
What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
When I moved to Mannheim for studying in 1988, I stopped the most
activities. You had to spend more and more energy for lesser success.
Business ruled, friendship sucked. It was no fun anymore. It wasn't the
scene, I grew up with. An example: When we visited the CeBit in former
times, the whole C64-Bunch went together, to devastate the Data Becker and
Atari exhibition stands. In 1990 you could't find the Commodore stand,
because it was painted over and over by so called Commodore-fans. The scene
today has no identity anymore, most of them are exchangeable.
Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
