Interview

Handle:
Irata of Tristar / Red Sector Inc.

How did you come up with your alias ?
It's taken from my most and favorite beloved game called "MULE" and not as so many people ask me from the company "Atari" backwards :-)

City / Country:
Dussedorf / Germany

Born year:
1965

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
My first machine was an C64 in 1983.

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
I started in 83 with some lads like Jabba, FloraSoft, Mr.X, PBA. I was the only member of FCG and later in late 85 we founded RSI 64 Europe. Together with MR.Zeropage we bought an Amiga 1000 in 1986, so we decided to found Red Sector Amiga. In 1987/88 Mr.Zeropage got busted as well as I myself, so I stopped for a few months...Some months later I got in touch with The Clumsy Creepers and they joined as demo coders together with Romeo Knight, BitArts. The most respected demo divition of RSI was started. In 1988 the first masterpiece was finished: RSI Mega Demo. In 1990 we joined forces with Tristar after 3 days of too much drinking, having no sleep at all and lots of fun. The longest cooperation in the computer scene was founded.

Today it's one group (TRSI) and I am proud and sure we have lotsa fun... In 1994 I dropped the scene due to severel personal reasons and also because dropped down so I decided to quite...

What was the proudest moment in your career ?

It's just that people remember the group TRSI for their respect, for their spirit we gave to the scene especially for myself. It was mostly a fair competition.

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
What would you like to be remembered for ?
For being a "partyanimal", being a great organizer and a nice leader, due all the problems we got as all those other groups and for our FRIENDSHIP in the group and in the scene... + AMAZING RELEASES!

What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
I stopped in 1994 as things got fucked up and I recognized it's too much work + time and personal money engaged in the scene, friendship were just a word, people couldn't remember anymore and also I do lotsa other things besides computer scene.
