Interview
Handle:
Dr. Strange, M&M and probably quite a few others I can't remember.
How did you come up with your alias ?
With the Dr. Strange thing - No idea
whatsoever... Guess I thought it sounded cool at the time (!). M&M
actually consisted of two persons. Both of us had firstnames that started
with "M" so we thought M&M would do the trick.
City / Country:
Copenhagen, Denmark
Born year:
1970
What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
A commodore 64. Can't remember when I got it but right now it seems a REALLY long time ago....
How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
Started of in some group back on the 64 - can't remember
the name of it. Then I got an Amiga and Co-founded Trilogy together with
NightFlash (some of you might remember him or know him as TOM).
What was the proudest moment in your career ?
I guess it was when we had just
stopped Trilogy (or was just about to) and I got a call from an english software
company telling me to gather the best coders, graphic artist and musicians
from Trilogy, coz they were coming to Denmark with a proposition.... Other
than I guess I am kind of proud of having written the "Paradox1" tune
for... Da Daaaa.... Paradox. It's kind of nice that everybody still seems
to enjoy that little tune.
For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
Hmmmm.... As the co-founder of Trilogy, having done the "Paradox1.mod" tune,
having written some really bitchin' scrolltexts which I thought to be
really cool at the time - Looking back now they are just plain pathetic,
probably also for always getting into fights at copyparties :)
What would you like to be remembered for ?
My music I guess and for keeping
a lot of creative minds in Trilogy, many with way too much willpower and
avantgarde ideas of how things should run in some sort of leash.... Oiling
the machine and keeping it running....
What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
Many
years ago I made a deal with Nightflash that we would stop Trilogy the day
we didn't feel we could get it any bigger and I think we did just that. I
think it was the fall of 1989, I got a job with some of the Trilogy guys for
an english software company. We started making games. We stopped making games.
We got "normal" jobs and I guess we discovered "real life" at some point...
Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
I probably should not have swung that poor chap, sleeping in his
sleepingbag, together with Midnight Maniac at the Trilogy/Dominators
copyparty - Talk about falling apart....
What was your favorite
GAME(S)
Loads and none really... Nothing springs to mind !
DEMO(S)
Some of Red Sector's...
PROGRAMMER(S) (OR PROGRAMMING TEAM(S))
Even though I would never
have stated so at the time I guess the danish group Kefrens is a
solid bet ! Also QRD's (hi Soeren) "Burner" demo for Seven Up and
Trilogy rocked for its time aswell as the Paradox intro he wrote back
in 1990. Everybody started doing wicked starroutines after that
(nobody came close though).
CRACKER(S) (OR CRACKING GROUP(S))
Unit A... "We'll stop after crack
no. 50" and THEY did - So coool !!! Also our own Bad Boy (Hi
Mogens) - a personality to say the least.
COMPOSER(S)
I have enjoyed so many... Chris Huelsbeck, Rob
Hubbard, Martin Galway & Maniacs of Noise...
BEST COMPOSED TRACK(S)
I remember I was blown away by Chris
Huelsbeck's titletrack for a game called "Unreal"...
EVENT(S) (E.G. COPYPARTY)
The Trilogy / Dominator copyparty (of course)...
MEMORY(S)
"Oh my god it's full of stars"....

A cold beer, a good glass of spanish redwine or a good malt Whiskey.
What are you doing nowadays ?
Computer Sales Manager.
What are you doing on your spare time?
Enjoying life really - As I see fit....
Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (read: admires)
That was then, this is now - It won't ever be the same, but it was great fun
while it lasted!
What is the meaning of life?
No idea, but life is NOW - live it !
