Interview

Handle: Initially "Glue Master", later in a single word "Gluemaster" or just "Glue".

How did you come up with your alias ?
My initials are L.I.M. If this is read out as a word, it is the swedish word for glue. Master was added to make it less obvious!

City / Country:
Lomma/Sweden

Born year:
1971

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
A Commodore 64. I believe I got it in 1985.

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
I made some tunes with SoundTracker on my Amiga as soon as I got my hands on it. At the time I was playing in a band with a friend (Spexhane) who knew Mahoney, and he was interested in hearing my tunes. He liked them and wanted to include them on a music disk. The friendship with Mahoney was the ignition of all the things I did on the Amiga back then. I got into assembler and wrote some simple demos. I went to school in Malmoe by then, and I met Black Shadow in the shop he worked in. I showed him my demos, and at a party in Staffanstorp he proposed me a place in Fairlight. I was a member for a while, but I was never comfortable there. The only person I actually met was Exolon. Eventually I left Fairlight for NorthStar, because everything I did was together with Mahoney and Kaktus. NorthStar was falling asleep, because the real legends were fed up with demos, and we realized they were right, and followed their example. After that a friend (Landreth) wanted my name in a new group, Yakuza, but I don't think there was any releases from it. I found myself better of on my own, without obligations. It should probably also be mentioned that a certain "Myggtasken" of "Megaklopparna" is me...

What was the proudest moment in your career ?
I can't remember any peaks of proudness...

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
My music! I'm still programming the Amiga, but I am hopefully doing more useful programs now!

What would you like to be remembered for ?
My music from my scene period. I never produced anything else I was really satisfied with.

What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
The NorthStar faded...

Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
No! It was all fun.

What was your favorite

Hybris

DEMO(S)
Mental Hangover

PROGRAMMER(S) (OR PROGRAMMING TEAM(S))
Phenomena always had very high quality on their demos, as far as I can remember.

1103 (Everything was cracked by 1103 on the C-64 when it was new.)

OVERALL GROUPS :
It is impressive that Fairlight is still around!

The party in Trollhattan where I spent a lot of time with Uggadunk. They really gave me a perspective of what it was all about.

MEMORY(S)
On the train home from a party in Gothenburg, where Mahoney trew yoghurt on the window, which he thought was open, resulting in Exolon getting "yoghurt-ized"!

DRINK ?
Coffee (black)

What are you doing nowadays ?
Studying computer science in Lund.

What are you doing on your spare time?
Programming my Amiga!

Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (read: admires)
The Amiga is still a pleasant girl to work with! She has matured quite a lot both in software and hardware since the Amiga 500 with Kickstart 1.3!

What is the meaning of life?
All other animals reproduce, so... :) We only live once, as we know it, so why not have fun while it lasts?
